Congratulations on your job offer with FieldWorks! We are excited for you to get you started! The onboarding process contains multiple steps and can sometimes be confusing, so we’ve put together this handy guide to help you track where you are and what is required each step of the way.
- You’re hired!
- Submit Background Check Authorization
- Background Check Results –> Approved!
- Submit New Hire Forms
- State-Specific Requirements
- First Day of Work
1. You’re Hired! Congratulations! You will receive an offer letter via text and email, as well as a link to complete the Background Check Authorization.
2. Submit Background Check Authorization Your offer of employment is contingent on passing a background check. You will receive a link to this online form via text and email. In order to proceed with the hiring process you must submit the Background Check Authorization.
3. Background Check Results –> Approved! You will receive the results of your background check via text and email at the same time that we are notified. So, if you haven’t received your results yet, neither have we. Sometimes the background check does not come back in time for the start date originally scheduled at your interview. In case this happens, we will call you to reschedule.
4. Submit New Hire Forms Now that you are hired there are a few more things you’ll need to fill out before you start working. Your portal will have several forms for you to complete once your background check is approved. In addition to the legal forms for employment, the W-4 and I-9, you will also complete forms about your contact information, our office and staff policies and your pay method. You will need to complete each of these forms
before you arrive to start work on your first day. You can access the employee portal at f.works/portal
5. State-Specific Requirements Some states have special requirements that must be met before you can start work. If you are working in one of these states, your recruiter will have notified you of these at the end of your interview. If you need assistance completing these requirements, or are unsure whether this applies to you, please don’t hesitate to call the recruitment line for assistance. Sometimes this process requires approval from state officials, which may affect your start date. We will work with you to reschedule accordingly.
6. First Day of Work! Hooray! We got all the required documents submitted and approved and we’re finally ready for you to start work. Two more things to remember:
- You’ll want to bring a lunch, dress for the weather, and be prepared to be on your feet for about 6.5 hours.
- You also need to bring your I-9 Documents to the office with you. These are the physical IDs you must show to a new employer that proves your identity and your eligibility to work in the United States. These must be the physical documents (not digital, photos, or photocopies) and they cannot be expired. You may bring one item from List A OR one from List B AND one from List C below. Please call us before going to the office if you are unsure whether your IDs are acceptable. You will not be able to start work if you do not provide acceptable documents.
