A founding partner of FieldWorks, Susan Blad Seldin was committed to the vision of a professional approach to field organizing and to building the premier grassroots organizing company for progressive organizations and Democratic campaigns around the country.

A veteran organizer who elected candidates and promoted causes in 34 states, she was nationally acclaimed for ability to craft new strategies, see the big picture, and motivate others to find the margin of victory in close races.

A Los Angeles native, Susan studied Political Communications at California State University, Sacramento. Before moving to Washington, DC, she earned a reputation as one of California's savviest political operatives.

She passed away in 2006, at 41, after developing graft-versus-host disease following a successful bone marrow transplant to treat non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, She is survived by her husband David, her daughter Agnes, and the thousands of political organizers she inspired.
